My wife and I have a 3 year old female lutino that seems to have an attitude towards my wife. We both syringe fed her when we got her three years ago. She has been displaying sexual postures for a few years now but only wants to be near me. She is fairly well trained with me (goes onto my finger when I want, and will walk around on my shoulder the normal stuff) but will hiss, peck, and avoid any contact with my wife. Is there any way to train her to accept my wife since it is her bird? Or do we have to live with the sexual discrimination that the bird displays?

Tom,
Often, companion birds tend to show preference for one person over another,
usually because they feel more secure with one versus the other. That sense
of security may be real or imagined but the bird thinks it's real.
Perhaps if your wife could spend extra time with the bird, while you are out, the bird would learn that your wife is trustworthy and can show as much love for her as you do.
