The last week or so, my 5 month old cockatiel has been getting very aggressive, especially when he's put before a mirror and then taken away from it (he does not have a mirror in his cage). Is it possible he wants a mate? If so, do they spay birds like they do cats and dogs? Otherwise, he is a very sweet, intelligent and affectionate bird, so this is really out of character, please help.

The majority of pet birds would still rather have another bird as a
companion than a person. When your 'tiel sees it's image in the mirror, it
sees another bird and becomes upset when it can't see that image anymore.
Our advice is to prevent your bird from looking in the mirror.
