Hi,
My cockatiel which I've had since she (I think) was basically born is now approx 10 months old. She has learnt a few tunes and now seems to be trying to talk. Most of her behaviours I can explain except one. One day when I was opening some mail, a glossy pamphlet for a wine club fell out. Ever since she has become obsessed with it. She will sing endlessly to it, chews the edges, and get's quite upset if we take it away from her. The pamphlet has a slight smell, is this what she is attracted to? She also displays the same behaviour with money (notes) which also has a smell.

Coralie,

It's sometimes amazing what type things can appeal to our cockatiels. From the spool of paper towels to music boxes, they seem to find a lot of entertainment in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Obviously, we can't determine whether your tiels attraction is for the pamphlet's color, smell or the sound produced when being chewed. As long as there is no health risk associated with her playing with the pamphlet, we think it's great.
