Have a one year old female that is alone most of the day. She has
freedom out of the cage and gets a lot of attention. I thought about getting
another bird to keep her company, but my husband is afraid that she will not
be as attached to us as she is now. Do you think that she is lonely when
she is by herself. We leave the radio on, but I don't know if that is
enough!

Susan,
Sometimes when another bird is introduced to an only bird, the pet/owner
relationship isn't as close as it used to be. Should you decide to get
another, perhaps if you gave both attention daily, things would be fine.
All birds personalities are different, so it is almost impossible to predict.
Several bird owners we're acquainted with leave a radio playing all day. You would have to think the birds would prefer the personal relationship more, but the radio certainly doesn't hurt anything.
