Hi!

I've recently inherited a 'tiel that is in what I would consider rough shape. He's been sneezing, and picking at himself to the point that the feathers under his wings and at the "elbow" are gone and sometimes bleed. 

What can I do?

The sneezing and picking could be symptomatic of a couple of problems. Our best advice is to take the bird to an avian vet and the sooner the better.

Until you can get to the vet, we would suggest you isolate it from other birds, if you have others, and try to keep the bird warm but not too hot. Do not administer over the counter type medication if you are planning to see a vet. These medications can sometimes mask symptoms that the vet needs to be aware of.
