Hello,
Our cockatiel is a lutino, approximately two years old. I have always read
that it is best to rotate a cockatiel's toys in order to prevent boredom. My
problem is that our bird, Pooper (I know, don't laugh at his name!), has two
favorite toys that are always in his cage: a bell on a chain that he has had
since we first bought him and furnished his cage, and a metal bead pull
chain (like the kind on ceiling fans). He loves both toys dearly, and seems
to miss them when I remove one or both to put in a new toy, and he refuses
to play with any of the new ones. When I return the "old" two favorites, he
is quite happy. Common sense tells me to leave him with his two toys that
he loves so much. What do you think?
Michelle
Michelle,
We don't know how large your cockatiel cage is but if it's large enough,
leave his two favorites in and rotate others. All you are trying to do is
to offer a variety.
