I have 2 male tiels who were rescued from trees near my home. I have taken care of then for 5 years now and I am wondering if they need more attention than I can give. They seem happy and both talk and sing but I have no time to handle them and train them. Are they really happy just being in their cages singing to each other all day or should I find a home with people who have time to dedicate to their birds on a more personal level? I don't want to give them up but if it is for their health I will find good homes.

Cheri,

We don't see any reason for you to give your tiels away. All birds are not tame, few are really trained. As long as they appear happy and they make you happy, everything is peachy. Your concerns are sincere and those two tiels don't know how lucky they are - or maybe they do. We think it's best for all 3 of you to stay companions.
