I have a 5 year old male cockatiel who has known only humans since he came forth from the egg; thus, he thinks he's human, too (he grazes in the yard, rides in the car, goes visiting and on vacations with us, etc.). I just purchased a young wife for him since he has displayed courtship behavior with the remote control and my hand. Before I purchased the wife-bird, I took him with me to meet her to make sure he would like her. At the wife-bird's house, we put them on the floor together and he immediately went into courtship behavior so I thought it was a perfect match. However, since the honeymooners have arrived home, he has no interest in her. Wife-bird tries to show him some love but he pecks her away. He wants only me, his remote or his mirror (I have removed all of his mirrors trying to force him to interact with his new wife). Has he bonded with himself (mirror image) or with me (he tries to you-know-what my hand) or what? Will he eventually warm-up to his wife or has he been warped from years of human contact?

Lisa,

Since wife-bird has just recently been introduced, it is possible they need more time to get to know one another. If after a reasonable period, they aren't showing any signs of compatibility, you could set them up in a breeding cage, complete with nest box, and see how they react.

Hopefully, everything will work out but occasionally a pair will not hit it off.
